Highland games

This is a "more the merrier" event and to  make it  fun we need a minimum number of 10 people.

Commence your experience at either: 12 noon, 2pm or 4pm

As a way of celebrating Highland  and Celtic culture there's none better than a Highland Games.  Fun, athletic and fabulous!

Splitting into Clans you'll tackle a series of seven epic Highland inspired challenges.

Caber Toss

Crack on, pick up a long log, hold it upright, run with it, toss it end over end. Easy.
Competitors are judged on how closely their throws approximate the ideal 12 o'clock toss on an imaginary clock.

Stone put

Similar to modern day shot put.  Throw using either the "Braemar Stone" static technique or  the "Open Stone" any old way technique.
Whichever way, you've still to throw as far as possible.

Weight throw

Also known as the weight for distance event, throwing with one hand only using a spinning technique. The longest throw wins.

Weight over the bar

All that's required is to throw a weight over a horizontal bar using one hand.  Not difficult.
But the bar rises and to progress to the next round  and a greater height.  The winner is  the highest successful toss.

Target golf

It's not quiet St Andrews but this is a brilliant test of your skill with a club. Various targets and distances to chip and aim for.

Tug of war

The ultimate strength challenge. Two Clans hauling and pulling from opposite ends of a rope.

And after your pulling , finish with Cluny's  very own...

whisky dash

A dash with a well known Scottish treat,  a shot of whisky.

But remember, in terms of a winning Clan............. "There can only be one"!!
